Research questions

a. What is the nature of public knowledge with regards to digital surveillance and how are everyday digital communication practices changing?
b. What practices and agendas of online and digital activism are being developed in response to the Snowden leaks?

Research methods

The project 1) generated and collected data on public knowledge within the UK regarding online surveillance from both ordinary citizens and political activists; and 2) reviewed and analysed responses to online surveillance amongst civil society groups and non-digital activists with regards to communication practices.
